You May Wonder

Intervention on a window at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne
Sunlight and transparent holographic plastic film
Rundgang Exhibition
Germany, 2014

You May Wonder is a site-specific work, where three windows on top of a room have been covered with an holographic film (normally seen in CDs and DVDs) that refracts the light of the sun projecting its visible spectrum -or Rainbow- into the room. The sunlight projection changes its location, according to the past of time during the day. Thus, the intervention makes visible not only the component colours of white light (sunlight), but also the movement of the earth while the projection wanders.

At some point in the afternoon and during several hours, the rainbow is projected onto the people passing by, something that is actually impossible to happen in nature, or at least it is said to be a wonderful phenomenon.
